iTunes' share of music sales has increased from 21.4 per cent in 2008, to 26.7 per cent last year—making them the top retailer for music in the US, according to Billboard.

That's crazy, when you think about it. But it's not that surprising: I have purchased a lot of music over the years, but I haven't bought a CD in, well, I don't know how long.

How long before music isles go the way of video rental stores? I say no more than 10 years from now the only music CDs being purchased from the shelves of retailers will be used.
