Quick Quote: @wilw and the "gaming monkey"

Comments [0]

"It's like there's a monkey on my back. A gaming monkey, and he's rattling dice in my ear."

This is one line from a hilarious dialog vignette he apparently dug up from a while ago. Reminded me of the sense I get that I just don't game enough.

Quick Quote: Microsoft Kinect will cost $150 -- via @IGN [Gaming]

Comments [0]

Kinect will have a suggested retail price of $149.99, as many online retailers have recently guessed. The news is that Kinect will be bundled with a free game, Kinect Adventures. All first-party Kinect games will have a suggested retail price of $49.99 and Microsoft expects that to be the standard, though it is leaving third-party pricing up to those publishers.

Yes, I'll be getting one. No, it won't help my grades.

Quick Quote: OnLive pricing will be per-game, rental-style plans, up to 3 years long -- via @GeekDotCom [Gaming]

As OnLive is a rental service you technically can’t buy a game as you need to continue subscribing to play it. The options you have include a 3 or 5 day rental, or an unlimited rental. Rentals are referred to by the name PayPass.

OnLive server-side uber-gaming service accepting sign-ups for "Founding Members Program" [Gaming]

Comments [0]

OnLive -- the gaming company that uses server-side, allegedly lag-free magic to let you play awesome games on your less-than-awesome computer and bandwidth -- is now accepting self-nominations for its "Founding Members Program" -- a limited beta consisting mostly of demos and a sample of the social integration.

Head over there and give them your email address for a chance to get in on the early action.
Get a better description than OnLive itself can come up with from Wikipedia's article about the company and its service. [Wikipedia: OnLive]

Dreamcast games to be resurrected on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network -- via @IGN [Gaming]

Comments [1]

SEGA recently announced that they'll be bringing their beloved Dreamcast catalog to the Xbox and PS3. There's no telling how many titles will come to the next-generation platforms by Microsoft and Sony, but you can peruse Wikipedia for a list of Dreamcast games. [Wikipedia]

I'm definitely excited to wax nostalgic over some SEGA games.

Even the subway taunts me to buy Red Dead Redemption [Image]

Comments [0]

I have Final Fantasy XIII and Assassin's Creed 2 for Xbox 360. I do not need another game right now.

And yet, I can't escape the buzz: the most recent iteration of Red Dead Redemption is out and, by all accounts, very, very good.

But I will resist until I complete at least one of the games I'm already thoroughly enjoying.

Won't I?
